Lymphatic Drainage

for pregnancy

Manual Vasculo-Tissue Dynamization (DVTM) is a specific and particularly effective method of manual lymphatic drainage established by Jacques de Micas. DVTM considers the lymphatic and blood network as a single circulatory entity and the maneuvers that characterize it allow a global action on the "exchange and return" system ensured by these fluids.

LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE DVTM

This is a circulatory massage , both gentle and dynamic, which stimulates and supports the following physiological functions:

  • Lymph circulation and venous return

  • Regeneration of lymph and blood

  • Tissue healing following injury

  • Maintaining tissue properties

  • Cellular exchanges (oxygen, nutrients, metabolic waste)

  • The activity of the immune system

WHY CHOOSE LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE?

Any stasis or congestion of the body's fluids leads to a disruption of the physiological functions mentioned above. This is why lymphatic drainage is recommended whenever lymphatic and/or venous circulation is disrupted.

Concretely, it responds to the following processing contexts :

  • Post-operative: lymphedema, venedema, hematoma, scar

  • Post-traumatic: sprain, tendonitis, contusion…

  • Perinatality: back pain, heavy legs, congestion of the lower pelvis

  • Venous return disorders: heavy legs, varicose veins, escarpment, post-phlebitic syndrome

  • Circulatory disorder of lymphatic origin: cellulite, tissue fibrosis

  • Gynecological related disorder: menstrual cycle pain, irregularity

  • Circulatory disorder caused by cancer treatment (radiotherapy, iatrogenic cause)

  • Inflammatory condition (tendinitis, etc.)

  • Sequelae of phlebitis

  • Circulatory disorders due to temporary or continuous immobilization

  • Congenital lymphatic edema

  • The consequences of venous disease: Hypodermitis, varicose eczema, ulcers and gonarthrosis, the origin of which is attributed to venous return insufficiency.

  • A large number of rheumatic inflammatory conditions

  • Neuroalgodystrophy or Sudek's disease

  • Prevents and reduces tissue fibrosis, improves healing

  • Decongests and stimulates the liver, gallbladder, intestines, gynecological sphere

Early treatment is recommended in order to benefit as much as possible from the benefits of manual lymphatic drainage.

LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE FOR PREGNANCY

Lymphatic drainage for pregnancy is specifically designed for expectant mothers. It is suitable for relieving common symptoms of edema (swelling) and circulatory problems that can occur during pregnancy.

During pregnancy, many hormonal and physiological changes can lead to water retention, heavy legs and other circulatory discomforts. Lymphatic drainage for pregnant women aims to relieve these symptoms by gently stimulating lymphatic circulation, reducing swelling and promoting a feeling of lightness.

It is a safe and soothing therapeutic approach, often recommended by health professionals to improve the comfort of pregnant women.

As a precaution, so that the stasis (sometimes old) that we lift, in a person who is not used to being drained regularly, does not act on the baby, we will avoid practicing lymphatic drainage during the first three months.

Furthermore, we will avoid treating a woman whose uterus is hypercontractile, or suffering from a cervical gap requiring immobilization. We have treated such cases, at the request of certain obstetricians, and under their regular supervision, without having encountered any specific difficulties.

WHY IS LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE RECOMMENDED DURING PREGNANCY?

During their pregnancies, pregnant women experience circulatory problems of different origins:

  • There are those who suffer from heavy legs, venous edema from the beginning of pregnancy; These are inconveniences of endocrine origin. The hormonal change will modify the capillary permeability, increasing the passage of macro-proteins towards the interstitium.

  • Others will see their disorders appear later during pregnancy; generally after the 4th month, and will progress to worsening over time. These are mechanical problems due to the compression, by the uterus, of the large venous and lymphatic trunks of the abdomen, affecting the circulation of the lower limbs.

  • Still others associate these two paintings.

In the first case, lymphatic drainage is ideal for combating the invasion of the interstitium by macro-proteins, without however affecting the cause.

In the second case, drainage is also indicated, it will be necessary to add specific techniques of “Drainage Mobilization” of the uterus.

It will then be logical to indicate DVTM postpartum, to eliminate the sequelae stasis, whether of hormonal or compressive origin.

The recommended frequency of sessions is one session per week until the end of the pregnancy.

LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE OF THE FACIAL

Facial lymphatic drainage is performed in slow but firm circular motions to circulate the lymph and then redirect it to the lymph nodes of the face so that they can eliminate toxins naturally.

The benefits of drainage are multiple:

  • Improved lymph circulation and venous return

  • Blood and lymph regeneration

  • Healing of tissues following injury

  • Strengthening the immune system
